Holosun 507K X2 review

The Holosun 507K X2 has 100% enhanced my shooting experience. As someone who uses this optic on my 22LR pack pistol (which doubles as my steel match pistol), I’ve discovered several standout features.

First off, the 507K’s slim design seamlessly integrates with the pistol, maintaining its compactness. Unlike larger optics that can feel cumbersome, the 507K adds no unnecessary bulk. Whether it’s attached to my hip or backpack, its unobtrusive size ensures both comfort and practicality.

This sight comes with 3 dot combinations, a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, or a combination of both. Personally, I prefer the dot for precision shots while hunting, and the circle-dot combo during steel matches. It allows lightning fast target acquisition, especially when transitioning between steel plates. And that clarity? It ensures accuracy even during rapid fire sequences.

Durability matters, too. The aluminum housing of the 507K is rock solid. It has endured countless draws from the holster, survived matches, falls, and outdoor conditions (freezing weather, snow and rain) on backcountry hunts...all without a hiccup. The sight holds zero, even after thousands of rounds. That reliability is critical for both competitive shooting and hunting. Plus, the side mounted battery tray makes swapping batteries a breeze no need to dismount the sight.

Speaking of batteries, the 507K’s energy efficient design ensures extended battery life (50,000 hrs.). Whether I'm at the range, in a match, or on an extended hunting trip, I won’t be left in the lurch.

And one feature I will not be able to live without: Shake Awake technology. When the sight detects motion or vibration, it instantly powers on. Meaning, the 507K is always ready (no more on and off buttons to deal with) and when stationary, it conserves battery life by going into sleep mode.  This is something I simply will not give up... After having had a non-shake awake, there is no turning back.

So, for me, the 507K strikes a perfect balance between compactness, durability, and performance. Whether I'm ringing steel or hunting, this optic significantly enhances my shooting experience.
